My charcoal image is really expressive. In the image, I am smiling with a twinkle in my eye. I also edited the image to make the shadows more defined. These little elements help create a more interesting picture to look at. If someone else were to recreate this project, I would recommend finding a picture that has lots of emotion and many different shades off a color.(black) This adds a lot to the art work and makes it a little more fun to work on. Overall, my picture was very accurate. I think I did really well in highlighting certain strands of hair and shadowing my nose. The hardest part of my portrait was the mouth. No matter how hard I tried, I could not make the teeth and lips look like my reference photo.

In the end I figured it out more, but it still is a tiny bit off. The most important thing I learned in this project is to draw what you see. For example, don´t try and make the skin look perfect because the flaws make the portrait look realistic. This was useful to me all over my drawing but mainly the nose. I stuck to what I saw and it turned out great! I really liked this project and would be happy to do it again with another photo.
