Most of my friends thought that my painting of a human eye and eyebrow was the most successful. It looks the most realistic and it seems like I had the most paint control. I would agree with my friends, considering the fact that this is my favorite painting out of the set. I like the eye so much because it took me three tries to get it right. I think the shadows look very nice and realistic. The overall shape looks 3d because of the shadows and angle I was painting at. I really like and enjoy this picture and am very proud of it. I loved using the polaroid format as well because it was so small. If you couldn't figure out how to do something, you could blur it out and it just blends in. The only problem with the paintings being so small is that you have to have a lot of control to keep the watercolors inside the borders. I had the most trouble with this and this was the main thing that I had to really work on. In the beginning of this project, I honestly could not stand watercolor. In the past, I have been very frustrated with it and couldn't figure it out. This project forced me to focus and practice using the watercolors. I learned how to get rid of moisture and how you have to wait for parts of the painting to dry before moving on. I learned how to create lighter and darker shades of all the colors too. I now have a much better understanding of how to use the water properly and I am definitely going to try and practice more.
